Each hide takes at least 89 steps over 28 working days, from chrome tanning to a bark retan to hot-stuffing with tallow, oils, and beeswax. Color 8 is a deep burgundy with a touch of plum underneath. Where the boot flexes, those oils shift and the creases pull up a lighter red, so each pair slowly settles into the way you walk.
