Batman Nerve Snail (Neritina auriculate) The Batman Nerve snails are extremely popular and unique snail in the aquarium hobby due to their appetite for nuisance algae, including diatom algae. They will not reproduce in in a freshwater aquarium and that helps to keep your population under control. They're peaceful and plant safe.  Nerite snails are hardy in a mature, stable, well-maintained aquarium. They're an effective algae eater and will thrive in a mature aquarium with plenty of algae and biofilm.
