Gemstone Mining

Discover our Semi-precious Side Embrace your inner explorer at our Gemstone Mining attraction and try your hand at panning for minerals and artifacts. A great educational activity where you’ll discover rich geological natural assets, the same way the early miners did! From quartz crystal to gold ore to amethyst to fossils, every explorer will leave with a collection of souvenirs. The experience starts with a gem bag of sand that will reveal hidden treasures through panning at the water trough. A “major strike” is guaranteed in every bag. Compare your finds to the Mineral Information Card, which serves as a great reference point for future research. Availability Gemstone Mining is now closed and will reopen in the Spring. Gemstone Mining is available during regular hours of operation. Please note that our last park admission is sold 2 hours prior to closing. Rates All Ages $10.60 (plus hst)General park admission rates are required for access to the Gemstone Mining adventure. Enquire about our special gemstone mining rates for pre-booked groups. Things To Know Before You Go Gemstone Mining: An accessible attraction, suitable for all ages and abilities. Requires approximately 30 minutes. Located beside the main entrance and is not done in our caves. Is purchased as an additional activity after park admission.
