Our interpretation of the perfect straight-leg jean. Many straight-leg jeans taper toward the ankle, creating a shape that feels narrower at the bottom than the name suggests. When designing our Austin Jeans, we began with the bones of our signature Tokyo Jeans and refined the proportions into a clean, more tailored silhouette. The Austin features a subtle high rise to create a flattering top block, while the leg falls in a true, uninterrupted line from the thigh to the hem. The result is neither too slim nor too wide — an elegant, timeless fit that simply looks right. This edition is cut from a textured 16oz true raw crosshatch denim. Left completely unwashed, the denim begins crisp and structured before gradually softening and developing a rich, personal fade unique to the way you wear it. Inspired by Seth’s search for the perfect jean to wear on his motorcycle, the Austin moves effortlessly from the road to dinner—and everywhere in between. Unlike traditional denim, crosshatch fabric features slub texture running in both directions throughout the weave — creating a subtle crosshatch grain that gives the denim more depth, character, and dimension.As the raw indigo denim breaks in, the textured yarns fade and patina beautifully over time, revealing vintage-style wear patterns unique to the person wearing them. Structured, textured, and designed to age beautifully with years of wear. ______ Please Read (Raw Crosshatch Care Instructions): We intentionally left these jeans raw, unwashed, and untreated. We didn't wash these jeans, and neither should you (for a few months) to allow the denim to fade naturally with wear. If you must wash, turn the garment inside out, then hand wash with cold water only and very little soap, and then hang dry to finish. To minimize shrinkage and maintain the garment's texture, do not use a machine or dryer, ever.
