Matcha Whisk - Kazuho White Bamboo Chasen

The Kazuho (数穂) chasen is the classic and most widely used style of matcha whisk. Handmade from natural white bamboo (白竹), it is crafted with about 70–80 tines — a balance of strength and flexibility ideal for both usucha (thin tea) and koicha (thick tea). White bamboo has long been the traditional choice for chasen. Slightly softer and more forgiving in texture, it makes whisking smooth and approachable, especially for everyday practice. In Japanese tea tradition, a whisk’s quality depends on balance and craftsmanship rather than simply the number of tines, which is why the Kazuho remains the trusted, versatile standard. Each whisk is handmade, with subtle variations in tone, spacing, and form that reflect both the artisan’s hand and the organic qualities of bamboo. Comes in a protective cylinder with silica gel to guard against humidity.
