Steel Rondel Daggers were a common feature of the early 16thC, but it was a fashion that started in the later 15thC. Popular with Landsknechts and are characteristically German of this period.   The dagger features concave sheet steel discs, a hexagonal flared steel grip with brass (latten) inlays, incised decoration and a brass tang button. The double sided diamond section blade is strong and stout and is fitted in a veg-tan cupped leather sheath, featuring a brass chape.
