These knives are sturdily built and are perfect for outdoors activity and the country based life of most people at the time. Based on numerous manuscript pictures and particularly the work of Gaston Phoebus as shown in the 'Book of the chase' - see some replicated here. The smaller knife has a beech handle and fitted with a brass bolster plate and rivets, some file work to the spine and comes with a decorated naturally tanned leather sheath. The larger knife comes with an ash handle with dot and circle decoration, brass bolster plates, filework to the spine and an 'eye' motif on the blade.
