A classic high medieval sword from the 11th and 12thC using a very plain and austere guard and pommel, but none the less clearly following on from earlier Viking age swords, but this being a Xa blade is a just a little more pointed than its earlier cousins.  Built for cutting, but with a relatively long 79cm blade and sharp point, this is a formidable sword and was exactly of the type favoured through the early periods of the crusades and the endless low level warfare across most of Western Europe. Comes with a fantastic wood cored scabbard and period accurate belts. Edge sharpness Semi-Sharp is 'butter knife sharp'; it has a very fine flat on the edge. Sharp has been ground to give a reasonable cutting edge, but final honing, if required, is by the customer.
