MMDHCA This product is included in the following Perfume Making Kits:  100 Essential Aroma Chemicals Kit Two ;  the Aroma Chemicals Discovery Kit and also in the Blending Kit. Description and usage notes: Extremely useful, aquatic brightening agent that can be used in a wide variety of fragrance forms, a lovely ingredient with a wonderfully fresh, watery quality. Description from IFF: “Green, floral (cyclamen) with top notes of ozone and new mown hay.” Easier to use and dose than most of the green notes available to perfumers, it lasts for a couple of days on a smelling strip so contributes from the top to the base of a fragrance. Arcadi Boix Camps writes about Helional first in 1978: “A product with a fresh melon fruity odor, it is endowed with a  great fixing power.  It is a product that has decisive influence in perfumes such as Diorella and Dior Dior where, together with Hedione and other compounds the perfumer happily obtains an exceptional naturalness.   Its blends with cis-jasmone, dihydrojasmone and the alcohols C-9, C-10 and C-11 are very important. It is another product that is strongly influencing the evolution of perfumery in the present day” In 1985 he talks about a group of materials he calls ‘melon fuitals’: “... which includes products as extraordinary as ... cis-6-nonenol, Melonal, Floralozone, Helional and the extraordinary Calone”  and adds “I wish to insist that Helional and Calone, already described, are products of infinite quality, whose creative possibility are likewise infinite.”
